I have an interview coming up with Sports Illustrated and I am really looking forward to it. I have gone through my college career and graduated with a strong GPA of 3.83. I feel like my hard work is finally getting shown. I got a sweet internship at ESPN.com and feel as if that experience will shine through in my interview since it is so closely related. I have also spent so much time writing for the newspaper around campus.
I have been preparing all week for the interview tomorrow. I even bought a new suit that I am going to wear to make a good first impression. I have done extensive research on the company to learn all that I can. I’ve learned that Sports Illustrated was one of the first magazines to truly use color and photos so liberally. They have even made a reputation of having some of the best photographers of all publications. They are very innovative with the magazine, being one of the first magazines to publish different covers of the same issue depending on the destination of circulation. I really hope I can use these facts effectively in tomorrow’s interview!
I am confident in the upcoming interview because I have been practicing all week with my best friend. Although I have trouble making eye contact with him because he makes me laugh, I know that keeping eye contact with the interviewer will be crucial for me. Another useful strategy will be to stay positive and upbeat while talking in the interview and in my overall demeanor around the building.
